295.2 carat Indigo Spinel Specimen
	Item: spim148 295.2 carats (59.04 grams) 1.75" x 1.5" x 1.2" (45mm x 37mm x 30mm) Mined near Mahenge, Tanzania Price: $442.80 This specimen is a cluster of more than 20 intergrown naturally terminated spinel crystals. These spinel crystals have very dark gray-blue-purple color that is nearly black. They have vitreous luster, and they are semi-transparent along some edges when held to a light. It has vitreous luster, and it is semi-transparent to transparent along most edges and at the crystal tips with some tiny gem grade areas. There also is a small area showing twinned surfaces. 400.6 carat Pink Spinel Crystal
	Item: spim150 400.6 carats (80.12 grams) 2" x 1.7" x 1.3" (51mm x 42mm x 32mm) Mined a Ipanko, Tanzania Price: $582.25 This natural pink spinel crystal has octahedral form with red-pink natural color. Its surfaces are in very good condition overall with some naturally etched features and some minor abrasions. This natural pink spinel specimen is translucent with some semi-transparent areas. Lavender Spinel Specimen
	Item: spim151 589.5 carats (117.9 grams) 2.3" x 1.9" x 1.5" (59mm x 48mm x 38mm) Mined at Ipanko, Tanzania Price: $589.50 This natural spinel specimen appears to have formed as a single large twinned crystal which subsequently separated by partial dissolution along a twin plane running through the middle of the specimen into two separate spinel crystals that rotated slightly and then became secured in place by light green apatite with a small amount of light brown phlogopite mica. Most of the spinel is a light lavender-purple color with a couple of small areas showing pale blue-gray color. The spinel is terminated and etched on most surfaces with some broken areas. It has vitreous luster, and it is semi-transparent mostly with some tiny transparent gem grade areas. See also a side view photo, and a back view.
654 carat Indigo Spinel Crystal Cluster
	Item: spim152 654 carats (130.8 grams) 2.25" x 2.2" x 1.6" (57mm x 55mm x 41mm) from Mahenge, Tanzania Price: $831.25 This specimen is a cluster of several intergrown naturally terminated spinel crystals. These spinel crystals appear blackish and when held to a light have very dark gray-blue-purple color along some edges and at crystal tips. They have vitreous luster, and several of these are twinned spinel crystals with a large crystal showing flattened spinel law twinning. Many of the spinel crystals have terminations in good condition while some are broken. See also another view.
1087.5 carat Pink Spinel Specimen
	Item: spim153 1087.5 carats (217.5 grams) 3" x 2.3" x 1.8" (75mm x 58mm x 45mm) Mined at Ipanko, Tanzania Price: $1196.20 This natural pink spinel specimen shows etched dissolution and recrystallization features with hundreds of small octahedrons "emerging" out of its surfaces. The color varies in different areas with pink, orange-pink, red-pink, and red natural colors. Some surfaces are in very good condition while some areas are broken. This natural pink spinel specimen is mostly translucent and somewhat chalky with several small glassy gem-grade areas exposed on its surfaces. We saved this specimen from the cutters who wanted to break it up looking for more gem-grade areas inside... Large Purple Spinel Crystal with Clinohumite
	Item: spim154 1073.6 carats (214.72 grams) 2.7" x 2.5" x 2" (67mm x 63mm x 52mm) Mined at Ipanko, Tanzania Price: $1610.25 This natural spinel crystal has octahedral form and purple color with a few small areas where the color grades into blue. There is deep orange color clinohumite exposed on three surfaces along with green apatite (possibly scapolite?) and white marble. The clinohumite is highly fractured with tiny gem grade areas. The spinel has terminations in good to very good condition on most surfaces with some broken areas. It has vitreous luster, and it is semi-transparent with some small transparent gem grade areas. Burmese Red-Purple Spinel Crystal, 1184.9 carats
	Item: spim155 1184.9 carats 2.7" x 2.3" x 1.8" (68mm x 59mm x 47mm) Mined in 1999 at Mogok, Burma (Myanmar) Price: $1682.25 This rare specimen of natural spinel was mined at Mogok, Burma (Myanmar) in 1999. It is a single large spinel octahedron with very rich reddish purple color (100% natural color). This natural spinel crystal is semi-transparent with tiny gem-grade areas exposed along its edges and surfaces. The terminations are in mostly good condition with some abraded areas and they show nice vitreous luster. Intergrown Gemmy Spinel Crystals, 192.67 carats
	Item: spim113 192.67 carats 1.6" x 1.5" x 1.2" (41mm x 39.5mm x 29.5mm) Mined at Mogok, Burma (Myanmar) Price: $481.68 This rare specimen of natural spinel was mined at Mogok, Burma (Myanmar) in 1999. It is actually composed of three intergrown spinels with very rich reddish purple color (100% natural color). These crystals are mostly semi-transparent with small transparent areas. The terminations are in very good condition with vitreous luster. One of these spinel crystals shows twinning as well (see close-up of twin plane).
